Dual Enrollment

About UNM-Taos Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is a program designed to provide high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school by taking academic or career/technical college courses.

The purpose of the Dual Enrollment Program, which includes Dual Credit, Concurrent Enrollment, and Friday Early College Program (FECP) at UNM-Taos is to provide an opportunity for qualified high school students to enhance their education by enrolling early in college courses. ůůֱ²¥ will be able to experience college-level courses, explore career options, and shorten the time required to complete a college degree.

Dual Enrollment Programs

  1. A dual credit course awards both high school credit and college credit for a college course taken by a student. Academically qualified high school students can participate in college courses at their area high schools taught by college-credentialed faculty, on the UNM-Taos campus, or online.
  2. A concurrent credit course awards college credit, but not high school credit, for a college course taken by the student.
  3. The Friday Early College Program provides an opportunity for students to enroll and attend college courses at the UNM-Taos campus on Fridays with other area high school students. ůůֱ²¥ receive both college and high school credit. FECP requires district superintendent approval.
